About

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I started Core & Hearth at 41, somewhere between a school run, a half-finished cake mix and a Pilates video I kept pausing to find a missing PE kit. I wanted the corner of the internet I couldn’t find: one that treated women our age like capable adults with full lives, not problems to be fixed.

Here, movement means twenty honest minutes on a mat behind the sofa, not a punishment, and not a personality. Food means meals that nourish a family without requiring a second job. And family means the muddy, loud, wonderful business of keeping everyone active and mostly cheerful.

I write most posts myself, with regular contributions from friends who live the same juggle — teachers, nurses, freelancers, all of us fitting strength and good food around real life. If it hasn’t worked in one of our actual houses, it doesn’t get published.

Behind the Scenes By day, I work in corporate HR focusing on workplace wellbeing. On the side, I teach APPI-certified Pilates and lean on a degree in Sports Therapy that keeps me grounded in how real bodies actually work.

Through every role—and every chaotic weekday—one thing has become clear: true wellbeing isn’t about rigid perfection or 5 AM ice baths. It’s about finding a rhythm that fits into actual life, especially as so many of us navigate perimenopause and find that the old rules around exercise, sleep, and energy suddenly don’t apply anymore. If something shared on this blog helps even just a handful of us navigate the shift with a bit more strength and a lot less frustration, then every late-night word typed here will have been worth it.

Whether that’s movement that leaves you feeling restored rather than drained, flexible recipes that feed a crowd without the fuss, or small habits that bring a bit of quiet to a noisy home, everything here is designed to help you feel strong, grounded, and human.
